Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough Split After 2 Years

Just two weeks ago, Ryan Seacrest was forced to dodge another wave of wedding rumors. Today, word is out that he and his girlfriend of 2 years Julianne Hough have broken up.

People magazine confirms the news after speaking with various sources close to the couple. An official confirmation is still pending, though.

Insiders say that what eventually drove the television mogul and the dancer / singer / actress apart was the very thing they used to say kept romance alive: their hectic schedules.

They’d been spending increasingly less time together as their work commitments kept piling on so, in the end, they decided it was best if they just went on their separate ways.

“The sources maintain that busy work schedules proved to be a great challenge for them both, although they are still in regular contact and remain friends,” People writes.

Us Magazine is running a similar story citing other insiders who confirm that distance and too long working hours drove the final nail in Ryan and Julianne’s relationship.

“Honestly, their schedules were too hectic,” says an insider.

“It just got to be too much. I think they both just sort of knew they couldn't do it anymore. The travel and lifestyle got to be too much. Who knows if this is just for now, but I think this is for good,” adds the source.

As noted above, only a fortnight ago, rumors were starting to pick up that Ryan and Julianne were definitely heading down the altar, having decided that it was the next logical step in their relationship.

Always the gentleman, Ryan gracefully dodged all questions on the topic on a recent American Idol promo appearance but, as these things go, it only helped to convince some that there was some truth to them.
