The "Deadpool" spinoff took years to go into production, but it finally did, much to the delight of comic book fans. Ryan Reynolds is reprising the character he first gave life to in 2009, in a film that will be out in February 2016.

It is currently in production: Reynolds is already musclier than before, and judging by his social media messages, very happy he's back on set, because he's been teasing fans with plenty of photos and promises.

However, he explains to Mario Lopez of Extra in the video below, it won't be the same Deadpool we saw in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

He doesn't elaborate on that, but he seems convinced that the film will do justice to a comic book character so popular with fans, in a way that the aforementioned "X-Men" flick couldn't.

Speaking of the promises Reynolds makes, "Deadpool" will be R-rated, which is what the character deserves. The video below is an April Fools prank, in which both Reynolds and Lopez pretend they're confirming it will be PG-13.

The tweets below are from Reynolds' feed, in which he does his best to drum up even more hype around the film.

"Deadpool" is directed by Tim Miller, and also stars Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Morena Baccarin.
