Following months of wild speculation on the state of their relationship, confirmation has finally come that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are actually an item, as paparazzi photos of them together have emerged online.

Shortly after the “Gossip Girl” star broke up with Leonardo DiCaprio, rumors started making the rounds that she had already started dating Ryan who, in his turn, had just ended an alleged romance with Sandra Bullock.

Having met while working on the box office flop “Green Lantern,” word in the blogosphere had it that they had such great chemistry that it was a wonder they didn't start dating earlier.

As they say, it's better late than never.

TMZ reports that paparazzi caught up with the couple on Saturday, as they were leaving Ryan's apartment in the early hours of morning, which can only mean they spent the night together.

“Possibly dating former co-stars Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were spotted this morning outside Ryan's apartment in Boston, MA,” the e-zine writes.

“Let's hope their relationship has a longer shelf life than 'Green Lantern',” TMZ adds, taking a swipe at the critically panned superhero film.

As we also informed you on various other occasions, while Blake was dating Leonardo, Ryan was believed to be romancing his longtime friend, Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock.

Word in the blogosphere said the two became even closer than before in the aftermath of the media scandal that ended Sandra's marriage to serial cheater Jesse James, and eventually found comfort in the arms of each other.

Ryan too was coming out of a failed relationship, as he and wife of a couple of years Scarlett Johansson had just filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Sandra and Ryan never addressed the rumors, which only made room for more. At one point, the tabloids were even speculating that the two were getting ready to tie the knot, and that they were planning a small wedding in Texas.
