Ryan Reynolds Is Single, Won’t Marry Again Too Soon

Having kept mum on the topic of the divorce from Scarlett Johansson since the shocking announcement came several months ago, Ryan Reynolds isn’t about to break his silence now. Still, he does tell Details he’s single right now, so that should please his female fans.

As we also noted the other day, the actor is featured in the latest issue of Details magazine. Despite his best efforts to make it clear that he didn’t want to talk about the divorce or what led to it, he still had to take some questions.

For instance, Ryan wants his fans to know that nothing of what they’ve been reading about his personal life in recent months is true.

Contrary to tabloid reports, he and Scarlett parted ways on very amicable terms, there was no drama to the breakup and no major scandal that caused it.

At the same time, Ryan says he’s single right now and, from what he can infer, he will remain so for a while longer because he has no intention of marrying again too soon.

“Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it. I’m not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there’s optimism. How can there not be?” Ryan says of having to go through a divorce.

“I don’t think I want to get married again, but you always reevaluate these things. Any kind of crisis can be good. It wakes you up. I gotta say, I’m a different person than I was six months ago,” he adds.

If he’s not interested in marriage, he’s equally indifferent about dating right now, so reports that he’s long moved on from Scarlett are also false.

“I have no interest in dating right now. It just seems so kind of alien to me at this point. I’ve been in relationships pretty much since high school. Some people look at that as a good thing. I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards,” Ryan says.

“I’m very happy not to be in a relationship right now. That’s okay. I didn’t plan on it, that’s for sure... but that’s okay,” he stresses.

Ryan also speaks very highly of Scarlett, saying it’s extraordinary that the both of them managed to stay on the high road during the media frenzy and to remain close friends as well.
