Clint Eastwood's new movie calls on the set three of Hollywood's handsome actors. Ryan Phillippe, Adam Beach and Jesse Bradford joined the "Flags of Our Fathers" team and they are preparing for the shootings, which are set to begin next month in Iceland, Washington, Los Angeles and Chicago.

The movie based on the book "Flags of Our Fathers: Heroes of Iwo Jima", written by James Bradley and published in 2000 with Ron Powers, was adapted for screen by Paul Haggis, who recently worked with Eastwood on "Million Dollar Baby."

Steven Spielberg will be the producer of the DreamWorks -Warner Bros. project, which would be domestically distributed by DreamWorks, and internationally distributed by Warner Bros.

This the second collaboration between Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg, after the 1995 "The Bridges of Madison County", directed by Eastwood and produced by Spielberg via his production company.

The movie tells the story of the Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in the Pacific Theater, which took place in the winter of 1945.
One of the bloodiest events in the area, in which 22,000 Japanese and 26,000 Americans had been killed, gave the world some of the most impressive war photos.

Several U.S. servicemen are to be remembered for having raised an American flag on the flank of Mount Suribachi, which had been set as the island's commanding high point.

The story is told from the point of view of James Bradley (Ryan Phillippe), who discovered that his father, Navy corpsman John Bradley was won of the six heroic soldiers who had raised the U.S. flag in the battle of Iwo Jima.

Adam Beach is going to play Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian, who had been drinking to death after his war experiences, while Jesse Bradford will portray another flag raiser, Rene Gagnon.

Adam Beach has worked for movies like "Wingtalkers" and Smoke Signals", while Jesse Bradford appears in Merchant Ivory's "Heights", together with Glenn Close and Elizabeth Banks, and stars in Don Roos' "Happy Endings."

Bradford's first role was at the age of four, in a movie called FALLING IN LOVE, with De Niro and Meryl Streep. He played De Niro's son, in three scenes.

"My parent's originally thought we should start up a college fund, so I made good on that. And now I'm going to go off and have fun", the actor declared.

Ryan Phillippe, the star of the 1997 scary movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer", played the main part in the 1999 "Dangerous Liaisons" remake, "Cruel Intentions", which was a box office hit and a critical success.

Apart from his role in "Crash" with Sandra Bullock, he also did "Chaos" with Wesley Snipes.
Ryan and his wife, actress Reese Witherspoon, have two children, Ava Elizabeth, 8, and Deacon, 2.

Phillippe has also started a production company with his colleagues Breckin Meyer and Seth Green, hoping to produce soon his first feature film, and to start a new career as a director.
