In all, there are about 30 movies, so do the math

Ryan Phillippe has taken on his first directorial project, “Catch Hell,” and the LA Times has caught up with him, trying to pick his brain about his experiences in acting. Ryan has been in the game for many years, and in that time he's appeared quite a few times on the screen, but this would be his first time behind the lens.

The movie “Catch Hell” is made after a script that Phillippe and a friend wrote, and he also appears in the movie, so you could say that he's fathered and mothered the project. Since it's his first time as a director, the actor takes the time to reflect on his career that has led him to this moment.

“I've made 30-plus films over 20 years. And in my opinion, five of them are good,” says the actor in a moment of blunt honesty. However, he refrains from giving the titles for the movies that are good.

Known for teen movies such as “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Cruel Intentions,” Ryan also starred in gritty dramas such as “The Flags of Our Fathers” and “Stop-Loss,” but it's difficult to say which are the ones he considers to be his best work.

“Catch Hell” just happens to be about an actor who has hit a dry spot in his career and ends up being kidnapped by some rednecks while working on an indie film. They proceed to also trash his reputation by hacking into his social media accounts and posting racial and homophobic slurs on his behalf.
