Luckily for him, Ryan Gosling always has his good looks to land back on since his directorial career has started off on the wrong foot. The actor has made his debut with the movie “Lost River” at this year's Cannes Film Festival and it failed to impress critics.

Not only that, but it's reported that people in the audience at the screening started booing at the end of the film, as a sign they didn't like the movie at all. The film received very mixed reviews, from the most scorching and scathing to the more mild, which saw it as an unpolished gem, a diamond in the rough.

“Lost River” was written and directed by Ryan Gosling himself, and it turns out that it sparks very different reactions in people, because at the end of the movie, when some jeered and booed, others stood up and applauded.

The film tells the story of a group of people living in a once beautiful city that has now fallen into ruin and disrepair. It is reported that many didn't even wait for the end of the movie to get up and leave the screening, which is the ultimate slap on the face for a director, especially one that is just starting out in the business.
