Actor shows off his silent acting skills in faux trailer for new movie

He's one of the most talented, versatile and, why not admit it, best looking actors of the moment. At the same time, though, Ryan Gosling is also very quiet, at least in his movies, which is why Funny Or Die dedicated a whole new “movie” to him.

The video below is a faux trailer for a film called “Quiet Ryan,” a film that would celebrate Gosling's silent acting skills.

As you will immediately notice (right after identifying the song as one from the score of “Drive”), it's comprised of footage from some of Ryan's most popular and critically acclaimed films so far.

These include “Crazy Stupid Love,” “Like Crazy,” “Lars and the Real Girl,” “Blue Valentine,” “Drive” and, of course, “The Notebook.”

All of these roles have brought, as fans must already know by now, a new meaning to the phrase “meaningful silence.”

“In a world of constant communication, it can be hard to find your voice,” the trailer says. Luckily, Ryan doesn't need a voice to communicate feeling to his co-stars and, ultimately, to the viewer.

A simple glance will suffice – from him or towards him. Or, as the trailer says, Ryan is “just nice to look at.”

“Quiet Ryan” is rated M for Mute, but the trailer doesn't say when it might arrive in theaters.

All jokes aside, Gosling has slowly but irrevocably made for himself a name of a very solid performer.

After the role that got people talking about an Oscar in “Blue Valentine,” he starred in this year's “Drive,” which, again, is generating major awards buzz.

He's also in “The Ides of March” opposite George Clooney, and will appear next in “The Place Beyond the Pines,” which has wrapped shooting and stars real-life girlfriend Eva Mendes and Bradley Cooper.

To further confirm that he's a hot commodity in the industry right now, Gosling is now filming “The Gangster Squad” with Emma Stone.
