If you think that Ruud Van Nistelrooy wants to leave Manchester United, you got it all backwards. The Dutch striker - seeing that he has been continuously linked to an imminent departure from Old Trafford - has decided to come forward and explain everyone what are his true feeling towards the "reds".
"I know a lot of people in Manchester don't understand it. Well, it is the same for me. I love Manchester United. That is why I don't really understand it.
But one thing I want to make clear is that I went (from the hotel before the Charlton game) because I had to go, not because I went myself", explained Ruud.
The footballer is one of the most appreciated strikers Man U ever had, since he scored no less than 150 goals in 200 appearances in the red tie-shirt. The current loss of form and a conflict with Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo have opened up a crucial conflict with team manager Alex Ferguson, who will most likely want him to leave the squad.
"Am I going to leave or stay at Manchester United? Anything is possible but perhaps it is best I leave. On the other hand I still have two years left on my contract. I will deal with all that after the World Cup. For the moment I am focusing solely on the team here and my agent knows not to disturb me with stories about possible transfers", concluded Van Nistelrooy.
The striker has been linked to a move to the other Premiership power, Chelsea, in case things don't quite work out at Man U. It's hard to believe, though, that Manchester will want to empower one of their main contenders for next year Premiership title race, especially since the club has now the right to choose Ruud's future team.
