The development team at Facepunch Studios announces that its recently launched Rust, which has been offered via the Early Access service of Steam, has managed to sell more than 1 million units despite the fact that it is still in alpha state.

The game’s creation is led by Garry Newman, who is best known for making the very popular Garry’s Mod, but interest in Rust was mostly driven by its post-apocalyptic theme and the unique mechanics that pit players against other players.

The world is delivered as a sandbox and gamers have a lot of options to craft items and create complex buildings in order to protect their belongings.

Rust can currently be played on Windows, Linux and Mac and is selling for 19.99 dollars or Euro.

Facepunch Studios continues to deliver updates to the game and plans to introduce a beta version before the end of the year.
