This past June 19, Russian cosmonauts Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev successfully completed a spacewalk that lasted for as much as 7 hours and 23 minutes.

According to Space, the two cosmonauts arrived aboard the International Space Station several weeks ago, on March 27. However, it was just yesterday that they finally went outside and got to float about in space.

Information shared with the public says that, sight-seeing aside, Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev stepped outside the International Space Station looking to get some work done.

Thus, the cosmonauts took care of installing new communications equipment, inspected latches, collected swab samples from windows and old pieces of equipment, and carried out repositioning experiments.

Seeing how carrying out such tasks is not exactly child's play, especially when one is working in space, the cosmonauts had to take several breaks and get some rest. Still, they eventually got the job done.

By the looks of it, the only setback that Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev experienced was when they tried to remove some bolts and dispose of an old piece of hardware.

Thus, word has it that the bolts put up quite a fight and refused to budge. However, in the end, the cosmonauts were the ones to win this battle of wills.

Should things go as planned, the two Russian cosmonauts, who are supposed to remain aboard the International Space Station for five and a half months, will carry out another spacewalk sometime this coming August.
