Russell Crowe appears to have been dreaming of more sequels to The Gladiator and has recently expressed his disappointment with Ridley Scott's choice to kill his character at the end of the movie. In his opinion, the death of Maximus in the hit movie, which has brought him an Oscar, has cost millions of pounds.
"It's cost us hundreds of millions! Great idea, mate! We could have been on 'Gladiator 10' by now", Crowe said, according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.
"Crowe sort of jokes about it but he knows he could have kept going back to the character for years", stated on of his friends.
Meanwhile, actor and singer Russell Crowe is rumored to have been approached by Kevin Spacey, who is the artistic director at the famous Old Vic theatre. Apparently, Spacey insisted on his West End return, in a bid to repair people's perception of him in the wake of his attack on a New York hotel worker.
According to an inside source, "Kevin told Russell he should take to the stage and remind everyone he is one of the great actors of his generation."
