As you probably know, Google Maps is a web-based mapping solution that provides valuable traffic information that can help you find the best route to reach your destination. But sometimes, the users are criticizing the Google solution because the route or the time needed to reach the destination were not what they were looking for.

Very often, the Google Maps fans were disappointed by the driving directions because they mention that they require a certain period of time and actually, it needs much longer to find a place. This happens due to accidents or rush hour traffic, some events that cannot be prevented by Google Maps and displayed to the user.

That's why the Mountain View company introduced a new feature to Google Maps that calculates the required time even with rush hour traffic.

"Now it's better at helping you decide when to leave to catch your sunset on time. When you ask Google Maps for driving directions, the directions say "about 59 minutes". But they also say something new: "up to 1 hour 50 minutes in traffic"," Eli Brandt, Software Engineer, presents the new feature.

"Google Maps now lets you know how long a drive might take in rush-hour traffic, for a limited set of metropolitan areas. Of course, if there is an accident, the drive could take even longer. But more likely than not, your drive to Half Moon Bay will take between 59 minutes and 1 hour 50 minutes."

Just like usual, you can use the new Google Maps function by going over to the official page of the mapping tool, set the driving directions for a certain location and check the time provided by the product. As you can see in the picture attached to the article, Google Maps calculates the normal time for reaching the destination and in addition, it displays the time required depending on the traffic for the selected route.
