Video game publisher Ubisoft offers a new piece of downloadable content pack for their music simulation Rocksmith, called Alternative Rock, on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The included tracks are:

Rush - Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Limelight, Red Barchetta and Subdivisions
Vampire Weekend - Cousins
The Black Keys - Gold on the Ceiling, Mind Eraser, Just Got to Be
Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Doors Down - When I'm Gone, Loser
The Offspring - Come Out and Play, Self Esteem and Gone Away

The pack costs 2400 Microsoft Points on the Microsoft home console and 24.99 dollars or Euro on the PlayStation Network from Sony.

During the month of December, the music simulation title will get access to the new Metal-based pack.

The game aims to teach players how to play an instrument, rather than simply asking them to jam along to the songs.
