Rupert Murdoch might be looking for a fight, and chances are he will get it if he keeps at it. Shortly after word got out that Katie Holmes was divorcing Tom Cruise, the News International boss was on Twitter causing a storm with his comments.

Though negative things are said about Scientology on a daily basis, it's rare to have someone as high profile as Murdoch take a stand against the cult, as he is doing on his Twitter feed.

“Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hiearchy,” Murdoch wrote after Holmes’ attorney confirmed that she’d filed for divorce.

He didn’t stop here either, returning to say that he believed that this was just the beginning of a very long scandal.

“Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people,” Murdoch wrote.

Later on, he returned to hint that threats had aimed at him for speaking out against Scientology. Word online is that the cult is very swift and efficient when it comes to nabbing potential threats in the bud, such as having people badmouth it.

“Since Scientology tweet hundreds of attacks. Expect they will increase and get worse and maybe threatening. Still stick to my story,” he said.

Right now, the consensus seems to be that the reason Katie decided to divorce Tom was Scientology and the degree to which he wanted his daughter Suri to be involved with the cult.

Just earlier today, we were telling you that Holmes was convinced he wanted to ship 6-year-old Suri off to Sea Org on the cruise The Freewinds, where she would have been instructed in the highest levels of Scientology.

Katie had hoped she could reach a compromise with Tom on Suri's upbringing, just as she had hoped it wouldn’t turn her into a Scientologist. Tom wanted the exact opposite of that.
