Arne Exton had once again the great pleasure of informing Softpedia about the general availability of a new build for its AndEX Live CD project, whose primary goal is to help you run the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop mobile operating system from Google on your personal computer.

Dubbed The Ultimate Edition, the AndEX 150505 build is here to introduce GAPPS (short from Google Applications). In other words, AndEX Live CD has just become the first and only Android-x86 project with GAPPS pre-installed.

Having GAPPS pre-installed on an Android-x86 Live CD means that you will get instant access to many of Google applications, including Google Play Store, YouTube, Google+, Google Maps, Google Play Services, and many others.

"You shall always use Google Play store in AndEX version 150505. Only use Aptoide App Manager (which is also pre-installed) if you can’t find the app you are searching for in Google Play Store," says Arne Exton in an email to Softpedia.

AndEX Live CD is no longer a free project

When we first introduced the AndEX Live CD, it was a freely downloadable project. Now, AndEX costs money, so you will have to pay the sum of $8 (€7) to get access to the download link, which consists of an ISO image that you can write on either a USB flash drive or a CD disc.

However, being powered by Arne Exton's special 3.10.58-exton-android-x86 kernel, it is guaranteed that AndEX runs on almost all laptops as well as on many desktop computers. It can be easily installed alongside Windows 8.1, so you should check out its website for detailed installation instructions.
