Gamers will have to choose between offensive and defensive powers

The team at the Paradox Development Studios is delivering more information on the skills and the character abilities that will be included in the upcoming Runemaster, all of them designed to offer a replayable experience and interesting gameplay choices.

The team says that each of the three classes will have two separate skills, one for the defensive and one for offensive moves.

Paradox states on its site that, “A skill point can be spent once to unlock a perk from one of the skill trees. Each perk gives your hero either a stat bonus, a new ability or upgrades an existing ability. It is possible to mod this and it is possible to make a perk give the Hero both a stat bonus and an ability.”

Gamers will have to evaluate the powers they can choose from and decide which ones are best suited to their play style and to their equipment.

The team says that it will offer more details on the actual skills once they are better balanced, but it is willing to say that the Berserker will start with three special abilities, called Protective Presence, increasing armor for a party member, Break Armor, which can be used to take out powerful enemies, and Powerful Strike.

Runemaster will offer a mix of classic role-playing game and tactical battles and will be launched before the end of the year.
