We've just received an email from the Chinese, Changsha-based company RonCore announcing us that it is launching the first single-chip SATA DOM SSDs, called the Mini DOM.

The RunCore Mini DOM SSD is a SATA DOM SSD that uses the SATA II interface. The company claims their product offers higher performance and reliability when compared to the earlier IDE/ATA models on the market.

The RunCore Mini DOM will be provided in three different solutions: 7 pin Horizontal-female SATA DOM, 7 pin Vertical-female SATA DOM, and 22 pin Horizontal-male SATA DOM.

The capacity ranges from 8GB to 64GB and the product line has 2 grades of temperature range: there is the Commercial Grade (0 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius) and the Industrial Grade range (-40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius).

The company targets the RunCore Mini DOM SSD towards the defense field, Industrial PC and Embedded Systems.

These are self-designed rSSD drives, a storage media using the 104-ball FBGA package with selectable 7pin VCC supply voltage or 5V input.

Moreover, the RunCore’s Mini DOM comes with an optional function of Intelligent Destruction to ensure data security. In cases of emergency, data stored in the SSD can be fully deleted in a short period of time by triggering the intelligent destruction button.
