The BlueStacks Android App Player is now in beta supporting every single title in Google Play, the search giant’s equivalent of the iTunes App Store for iOS platforms. The beta is free to download and use on any Intel-based Mac with OS X 10.6 installed.

Touting the new beta on the official BlueStacks website, the developers confirm that the new App Player supports all Android apps developed to date. The software is also “faster than ever,” according to its creators.

Users shouldn’t consider the BlueStacks App Player the equivalent of Apple’s iPhone Simulator in Xcode. While the Simulator app creates a standard iOS environment with almost all functions enabled, BlueStacks merely acts as a gateway to the Google Play app store.

The software only boots up a full-fledged Android environment when apps are deployed.

If you’re running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (or higher) on an Intel Mac you’re good to go. Note that the software is in beta, so it’s not going to be flawless.

You need to do your research. Bluestack is an Android emulator with every bit of functionality as a iphone emulator. Hence you can run apps inside of the program. If I wanted a gateway to the play store Id go to the website. It IS a full enviroment with a Bluestacks launcher. You can use a different launcher such a ADW and access the regular Android home screens. You've downplayed the hard work of many people.
