Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA is readying the launch of its first smartphone to pack HSPA+ connectivity, the T-Mobile G2, and a series of hardware specs for the device have just made it into the wild.

Among them, we can count the fact that Google's Android 2.2 OS would run on the device, and that a 1GHz Snapdragon processor would be at its heart.

Although some suggested at one point in the past that the device would be powered by a dual-core chip, the latest reported on it point towards a single core processor, though it should offer enough capabilities to the carrier's users, that's for sure.

The upcoming mobile phone should boast a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, while packing a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto-focus and LED flash on the back.

WiFi and Hotspot capabilities should also be present with this one, along with Bluetooth 2.1 + Enhanced Data Rate and aGPS receiver.

As the recently leaked photos with the device showed, T-Mobile G2 should include a slide-out four-row QWERTY keyboard, which would be a great option for texters, that's for sure.

One of the nicest features of the device, of course, should be the included support for HSPA+ 14.4 Mbps connectivity.

Interestingly enough, it seems that this mobile phone would arrive on shelves with the stock Android 2.2 platform on it, as T-Mobile says it would be a “with Google” device.

However, CellPhoneSignal found a Walmart listing suggesting that the T-Mobile G2 would pack the HTC Sense UI on top of Android, though it remains to be seen whether this pans out or not.

T-Mobile promised not too long ago that it would offer more info on the handset in the near future, which means that we might not have to wait for the release date to arrive to learn more on it.

Even so, in case there are some wondering when T-Mobile would launch it, we should note that some of the latest rumors around suggested September 29 would be the lucky day. Keep an eye on this space to learn more on this.
