RUMOURS ABOUT MOBILE PHONES

Rumor: Motorola Z10 to Come at T-Mobile, 3G Enabled

- Moto Z10 and 3G look promising for T-Mo's subscribers

By: Florin Troaca, Communications News Editor

The unreleased yet Motorola Z10 might be among the first handsets to work on the (also unreleased yet) 3G network of T-Mobile USA. Moto Z10 could come in the next months via the fourth
largest mobile US operator, together with the delayed and long awaited 3G network, reports Electronista, following a post made on Howard Forums.

If the rumor turns out to be true, T-Mobile's subscribers will really have a highly featured handset in Z10, unlike the other 3G phones announced to come from the magenta-colored carrier, like Nokia 3555 or Samsung SCH-T819.

Motorola Z10's existence was first unveiled back in the summer of 2007, but for various reasons it was not launched until now. However, Motorola showcased the phone at several events, including CeBIT 2008 (we have live pics with Z10 from there – click here), and will soon release it on several markets around the world.

Coming in a banana-shaped slider form factor, Moto Z10 measures 4.29 x 1.96 x 0.64 inches (109 x 50 x 16.5 mm), weighs 4.05 ounces (115 grams) and features Symbian OS 9.2 with UIQ 3.3, a 2.2 inch scratch-resistant 240 x 320 display, 3.15 Megapixel camera with xenon flash, auto focus and QVGA (30 fps) video recording, Media player, the latest Bluetooth and USB versions, email, Instant Messaging, WAP 2.0 browser, microSD card support and so on.

Although the original version of Motorola Z10 only support 2100 HSDPA connectivity, a US edition apparently exists too, that works on the 1700 MHz frequency.

T-Mobile USA's CEO, Hamid Akhavan, said earlier this year that the T-Mo 3G network will be ready in the summer of 2008 the latest, so subscribers will finally get some high data transfer speeds on their handsets.

All in all, Motorola Z10 and 3G are two "things" that will surely make T-Mobile's customers to wait for the summer with enthusiasm. Hopefully, both the handset and the network will indeed be T-Mobilized. If so, official details will come soon, so let's wait for them.
