Currently, Samsung's hottest Android-based mobile phone can be considered the Samsung Galaxy S, but it seems that the company aims at raising the bar with this handset's successor. While Galaxy S enjoys increasing demand on the market in Korea and is highly expected to become available for purchase in the United States in the following weeks, the South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is getting ready to release the second Galaxy S device, model number i9200, rumor has it.

For the time being, we should take the existence of Samsung Galaxy S, which seems to have been exposed by itrans.kiev.ua with a big grain of salt. However, a recent article on UnwiredView suggests that the device has chances of proving real in the end, especially when taking into considerations the specifications that seem to have leaked for the phone. With an expected released date set for early 2011, the Samsung Galaxy S2 would become the next flagship Android handset from the company.

When it comes to the currently rumored hardware specifications for the upcoming device, we can count a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED 2 touchscreen display that would boast a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, a 2GHz processor complemented by 1Gb of RAM and 4GB of ROM, not to mention 32GB of built-in flash memory, which can be expanded via a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

Other specs of the mobile phone include an 8-megapixel photo snapper with FullHD video recording, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity options, built-in A-GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack, as well as accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensors. On top of that, the rumor has it that the upcoming handset would run under Android 3.0 Gingerbread. All in all, things seem more than appealing, if real, of course. For the time being, the news on Samsung Galaxy S2 i9200 remains in the rumor side, but we'll keep our fingers crossed for it to pan out.
