The development team at Guerrilla Games might no longer be working on the Killzone franchise, but publisher Sony seems to be eager to deliver a new first-person shooter based on the universe and is already working on the teaser for the title.

A source inside the development team for the next Killzone has offered Siliconera the text for an upcoming teaser trailer.

It reads: “My sons and my daughters, today we take the first step toward our imperial future. For years, this once-great nation has stagnated in the shadow of its enemies. Governed by scoundrels who flaunted the ideals established by my father, these traitors… these enemies of our race have diluted and exploited the triad of Duty, Obedience, and Loyalty.”

It continues, “This regime, this corrupt regime, has been dissolved. In its place does rise an era of stability and strength. A time of opportunity born from a promise that we shall return our people to their proper sphere of dominance.”

The way speech is written seems to suggest a Helghast character and the sources inside the development team suggest that the game will introduce a female character to deliver them, the daughter of Aurarch Visari.

It is not clear whether Sony will play a potential Killzone 4 straight, creating a new Helghast threat and then putting players in charge of the human soldiers that will stop it, or whether the company is working on something completely different and will allow gamers to take the side of the race that has been until now considered the enemy.

The teaser trailer might also be linked to the PlayStation Vita version of Killzone, which is being developed by the Sony Cambridge studio.

Killzone 3 was launched exclusively on the PlayStation 3 and received a solid reception from the player base, but the game lacks the punch to compete with big shooter franchises like Call of Duty or Battlefield.
