Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion seems to be preparing the release of a series of three new BlackBery devices for the ongoing year, as well as a number of 16 other handsets set for launch next year. The RIM mobile phones that should reach the market this year are supposedly the Blackberry Essex, Blackberry 9100 aka Striker and Blackberry Curve 8530.

The news about the new BlackBerries comes from thecoolguyreport, which already brought to the light details on the upcoming Storm 2 and Bold 9700, and which seems to be quite effective. While the upcoming launch of the three new handsets from RIM might not sound like a surprise to some of you, as rumors about these devices emerged earlier, the number of handsets slated for release in 2010 should certainly seem impressive.

Blackberry Essex is reported to become available as a 3G / CDMA / Wi-Fi handset, and might be nothing else but another version of the already available BlackBerry Tour 9630. According to thecoolguyreport, it will feature a trackpad, as all of the latest RIM phones, and should come with other features as well, though they are kept under wraps at the moment.

The second device, Blackberry 9100 (or Striker), is rumored to include 3G connectivity, a trackpad, and a slimmer design when compared to the Bold 9700. Other than that, no details on it are available it seems, except for the fact that it should be included in the Pearl lineup. As for the third device, the Blackberry Curve 8530, it surfaced into the wild before and is said to come as the CDMA version of 8520.

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is expected to become official in the very near future, while the Essex should be launched at the beginning of next year. As no details on the other 16 BlackBerries RIM plans for next year have emerged, we hope that the maker will pack them with some more features than those on the currently available ones. Stay tuned to learn more on this.
