Reports in the movie-oriented media are suggesting that Paramount is working with video game publisher Ubisoft to create a movie based on the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell intellectual property, with the French company apparently set to have an important degree of control over the final product.

Both companies involved have refused to make official comments on the reports.

An earlier rumor has suggested that Ubisoft was working with Warner on the project, but it seems that Paramount is ready to invest more in the Splinter Cell project.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist was revealed during E3 2012 and will see series protagonist Sam Fisher leading a new Fourth Echelon organization, trying to stop a number of rogue nations who are launching terrorist attacks against the United States of America.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will use Kinect to a greater extent than other action titles and Eric Johnson will be the new voice and face of Fisher.
