Rumor Mill: No More Wayne Rooney for FIFA 13 Cover

A number of sources inside EA Sports have suggested that Wayne Rooney, the big star from Manchester United, will not be on the official United Kingdom cover of the upcoming FIFA 13 and might get replaced by Lionel Messi.

If Wayne Rooney misses the cover of the football simulation, it would be the first time in seven years that he fails to become the main face of the game from Electronic Arts.

The sources have suggested that Lionel Messi, the star from Barcelona, might be joined by some younger players.

EA Sports creates personalized covers for most of the countries where FIFA 13 is launched.

FIFA 13 introduces more unpredictability to the football simulation and makes improvements to the Player Impact Engine, with gamers able to enjoy more realistic interactions between the player and the ball.

FIFA 13 will be offered on home consoles, the PC and mobile devices in late September.
