A source which is close to the development process at Microsoft that will result in the next Xbox home console has told IGN that the video card the platform will use will be similar to the currently available AMD made Radeon HD 6670.

The card supports DirectX 11, 3D games, 1080p resolution and multi-display output on the PC at the moment and its performance might be further increased when integrated closely with other components in the next Xbox.

The Radeon HD 6670 is seen as an entry level graphics card which can have problems delivering a solid performance when maximum settings are used in current releases like Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2.

The source also says that the performance offered in the next Microsoft home console will be six times that seen in the 360 and 20 percent better than that expected to be delivered by the upcoming Wii U from Nintendo.
