Soon after Deus Ex: Human Revolution has been released last week the publisher Square Enix has launched a teaser campaign that includes coded messages and mysterious locations, apparently pointing to the first piece of downloadable content that will be released for the video game.

Source inside the Eidos Montreal studio have now told VG247 that the clues are pointing to an adventure that will be set on a ship and will see the main characters, who might not be Adam Jensen, spending two days there while attempting to solve a mystery.

The player will be isolated from the communication network and the useful tips that they offer in the main single player of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

It seems that the ship is actually a prison and that the warden and an unnamed organization are using the inmates as subjects for a number of unethical experiments.

Locations will include a sentry tower, cell blocks and other areas of the ship.

The source has also said that one build of the DLC had players choose a completely new augmentation configuration for the DLC, which means that it takes place outside the events seen in Human Revolution and might even feature J.C. Denton as the protagonist.

This might also mean that the game will offer nano augmentations rather than the already seen mechanical ones.

The hints that were offered by Square Enix and Eidos Montreal until now have mentioned the Uluru rock formation in Central Australia, which might mean that this is just the first piece of a longer quest that begins on the prison ship and moves to the isolated continent.

It's not clear how soon Square Enix plans to release the new DLC and how much it will charge for it.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is available on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
