Coming in November

It seems that Microsoft is getting ready to announce the existence of a new bundle which includes a new slimmer 250 B hard drive using Xbox 360 home console packed with the new motion tracking Kinect peripheral and probably a game that uses the new system. The new bundle will probably arrive on November 4 when all other Kinect powered packages are launched.

The new rumor comes from Australia, where a reader saw a high resolution image of another bundle that mentions the 250 GB version. The added game seems to be Kinect Adventures, which also comes in a package that includes the 4GB Xbox 360 and no pricing options were seen. Microsoft has not commented on the existence of a new package which might indicate that it's real and that an official announcement could come as early as next week's Gamescom games fair.

Those who are interested in getting motion tracking for their Xbox 360 can also pick up Kinect on its own, for 150 dollars. The new system will be used to both control the interface of the home console and to control some games experiences, like dancing in the Harmonix made Dance Central and rafting in River Rush.

The price of Kinect is seen by some as being a big barrier to its wide adoption by gamers but Microsoft has recently stated that it will be pulling all the stops for the launch of the new device, putting in the same amount or resources that it would spend for the launch of a whole new home console. This party game developers have been cautious, saying that Kinect is an interesting idea but that they will need to first see how it performs at retail. Sony will launch its own motion tracking system, called PlayStation Move, during September, hoping to preempt Microsoft and make its solution the more popular one.
