While the world prepares to receive the latest 4G LTE Android devices expected to be showcased at IFA 2011, in Berlin, Telstra is about to launch the HTC Wildfire S smartphone on prepaid.

According to the guys over at Ausdroid, the smartphone will cost only $199.99 and will be locked to the the carrier's network.

However, customers can pay a $100 unlocking fee, which drops to $27.50 after six months of ownership.

One of the most popular HTC handsets, the Wildfire S made its debut at Telstra back in July and was made available for $0 upfront with the $59 Freedom Connect plan for a 24-month period.

In addition, the budget smartphone sports an average 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash.

It packs a standard amount of memory, including 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The HSDPA-enabled entry-level smartphone comes with integrated GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.

Obviously, the phone comes with Google's full package of apps, including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk.
