A couple of massive rumors have hit the proverbial mill yesterday, with one saying that a full-pledged Fable 4 will arrive in 2013, while the other seemingly confirmed that Gearbox Software is planning a reboot of the Duke Nukem franchise with Duke Begins.

Quite a lot of rumors have started to appear on the web recently, with many outlets reporting on things heard during last week's Gamescom 2011 conference.

The US Official Xbox Magazine, via CVG, seemingly takes the rumor cake, as it has published two very big reports, concerning the next Fable game, after next year's Fable: The Journey, as the plans of Gearbox Software after releasing Aliens: Colonial Marines.

While Fable: The Journey is being made as a magic simulator for the Kinect sensor on the Xbox 360, the magazine says that its developer, Lionhead, is also working hard on a full-pledged Fable 4, which will use a regular controller and might appear sometime in 2013.

No word yet on how it will handle the events from The Journey, but it seems that gamers will once again be able to continue the main story of the role-playing franchise two years from now.

Gearbox Software is currently hard at work on quite a few projects set for release in 2012, including Aliens: Colonial Marines, in partnership with Sega, but also on Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, with Ubisoft, or Borderlands 2, with 2K Games.

After some of those games will be released, the magazine says that Gearbox will start work on a full-pledged reboot of the old Duke Nukem franchise, which just saw the final release of Duke Nukem Forever a couple of months ago.

The new game, presumably called Duke Begins, will showcase the origin of the iconic character and mark a proper current-generation release in the series.

Bear in mind that these are just massive rumors, for the moment, so don't start saving up money for Fable 4 or Duke Begins just yet.
