The game will see more characters working together on quests

Leaked details about Dead Space 3 are mentioning a new snow covered planet called Tau Volantis that main character Isaac Clarke will have to explore after he crash lands there.

It's not clear why Clarke is flying around the planet but once he goes down he is caught in something called a white-out, a condition that limits visibility and makes any kind of exploration very hard to complete.

After managing to find shelter Isaac meets up with a number of other survivors from the vessel he was travelling with, including Ellie from the first video game in the series and a new character called Jennifer.

She is involved with a mysterious company called Rosetta and plans to reverse engineer research conducted by them that is linked with the Necromorphs.

It seems that the first big action set piece of Dead Space 3 kicks off after the three characters meet and explore a snowy mountain, hearing the howl of an unidentified creature.

The details are coming from a source inside publisher Electronic Arts that has talked to technology site Siliconera.

The site has also published information about the Syndicate remake that the Swedish developer Starbreeze was then confirmed to be working on, which lends some more credence to the leak about Dead Space 3.

Dead Space 2 was launched earlier during the year and was a solid hit for Electronic Arts, managing to sell more than 2 million units during its first week on sale and receiving good reviews from most sites.

Visceral and EA have since then suggested that work on Dead Space 3 had already started but the two companies have not offered any clear details on the game.

Given the criticism leveled at the first two titles in the series it would make sense for Visceral to focus more on the horror aspect of the franchise, which has been rather limited until now.
