Rumor Mill: Battlefield Wake Island Map Might Tease 2142 Sequel

Gamers who spend impressive amounts of time in Battlefield 3 have noticed a possible teaser pointing that the developers at DICE are already working on a new science fiction themed game in the series.

The BF3Blog site has noticed that the number 2143 appears on a wall in the Wake Island multiplayer map, which might mean that the franchise is once again taking a trip to the future or that the developers really like to tease the fan base.

DICE has launched Battlefield 2142 during 2006 and despite the fact that the game failed to impress the development team has repeatedly stated that they had a weakness for the universe they created and had long term plans to visit it again.

Battlefield 2142 was also first teased in the multiplayer maps of the second modern time game in the series.

DICE and Electronic Arts have already announced plans for long term DLC support for Battlefield 3.
