Rumor has it that stores already have the Macbook Air shipped to them. Blokes over at BoyGeniusReport claim that "stores have them, no question because they arrived Friday / Saturday." Keeping in mind that Apple's CEO Steve Jobs did say Air would be released in two weeks time after its introduction at MacWorld, it is fairly... fair to assume we'll be seeing the pricey machine on display tomorrow, or the day after.

Product banners and visuals are also said to go up this evening in Apple stores
to prepare potential buyers for the MacBook Air's official launch. However, an update on the same story reveals that MacBook Air will be at least one day late, hitting displays on Wednesday.

The MacBook Air truly is a notebook worth looking into, if not acquiring. It lacks a lot, no doubt about it (just one USB port, slow clock, no optical drive), but we can all agree it's not going to be anyone's primary working device. MacBook Air uses a fair amount of RAM though (2 GB), while its large trackpad sports both interesting and useful features.

Other MacBook Air news have recently revealed that Apple's battery replacement program for the device might not be so necessary. Users, although not advised to do so, can easily swap the Air's old battery with a new one, by just removing a few screws and then tightening them back in place.

It has also been hinted that this might just inspire consumer electronics companies to begin selling batteries separately. So, don't be surprised to hear stuff like this right after Air officially hits shop displays.

Apple will charge $129 and will take up to 5 working days to get the job done for you, but it's still the safest way to go, as far as battery replacement is concerned. In fact, that MacBook Air is so thin that you might even lose a part or two in the process, so if you've already preordered yours, don't rush to the store on Wednesday thinking this is your chance to see what's inside Apple's newest product. Just use it and enjoy!
