Rumor: Diablo III to Be Announced this Summer... or Sooner?

- Updated: Sooner seems to be the right word

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Rumors about Diablo III can be heard every now and then, but nothing official pops up – the third sequel to the history-making hack and slash game is one of the best kept secrets
in the gaming industry. However, it will eventually be officially announced and the release date could be sooner than most of us expect. Another rumor, of course.

And that is the same thing Surfer Girl (the person that is usually right regarding her rumors) does: she updated her blog and said that "The next Diablo (probably titled Diablo III) will feature a single-player component (akin to previous titles) and an MMO component (less akin to previous titles), will be announced sometime next summer and is still on track for release before decade's end."

This is, of course, just a bit of bad news for us: the summer is still pretty far away and the previous rumored announcement date (slated for this spring) sounded much better. Well... the most important thing now seems to be the fact that it will be released, announced, detailed and so on. We will try to contact some officials over at Blizzard and find out a thing or two about this game, but it's pretty obvious we won't get too much. Or... who knows?

Diablo III is one of the most expected games for people all over the world and we had previous rumors regarding it, with most of them turning out to be wrong. There are no Diablo3.com websites owned by Blizzard at the moment, nor other related sites (at least none we know of) and it also seems that the MMO part might or might not be. Not exactly the most detailed piece of news, we know.

Update: This is absolutely amazing and really hard to believe! Just trust my words: Stay tuned with Softpedia! We just got something you could call a Bomb. Still waiting for approval to publish it. Have patience – it will totally worth your time!
