Update. VUPEN's CEO & Head of Research Chaouki Bekrar has responded to our inquiry and denied the claims.

"This compromise rumour is totaly false, nothing happend at all," he said.

Since there is no other evidence to indicate that the company has been breached we will assume that these rumors are most likely fake.

According to
security journalist Kevin Townsend, some reports are making the rounds claiming that the famous French security company known as VUPEN has been breached by hackers. As a result, details on 130 zero-day vulnerabilities may have been leaked.

VUPEN became known worldwide after its researchers demonstrated their hacking skills on numerous occasions, including at the Pw2Pwn competition that took place in March 2012. At the time, they found security holes in Chrome on the first day of the contest.

Right after the event, many voices accused the firm of selling zero-day exploits to spy agencies and government for large amounts of money.
