As the offspring of two very famous actors, Bruce Willis' and Demi Moore's older daughter Rumer Willis was bound to get constant media exposure. However, the 20 year-old has proved that she craves for a lot more than some of her parents' reflected glory and has expressed her desire to become an actress in her own right. While she is waiting for her shot at fame to arrive, Rumer has also become a regular of the Los Angeles party circuit, a fashion-forward
socialite with a liking for extreme hairstyles, an enviable figure and a lot more confidence than we'd expect from someone that young.
Last night, Rumer once again proved her budding fashionista status when she attended the Women in Film 2008 Crystal Lucy Awards gala that took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The aspiring actress donned a spectacular bright red silk prom-style dress and posed for the camera with renewed confidence, looking both extremely stylish and glamorous in a series of poses that prove that she is truly her sophisticated mother's proud daughter. And despite coming under fire for using her famous parents as a means to secure her movie roles, Rumer denies resorting to nepotism and says that she's looking for a lot more than just jump on her parents' bandwagon.
"I think when people meet me they're shocked, because the idea of celebrity children is that they're trust-fund babies that don't have any desire to work and they're just going to ride their parents' train. [...] I would hope that after people meet me, they would give me the benefit of the doubt. They're kind of like, 'Wow, you're really much more chilled and down-to-earth than I thought you would be'", she stated. And by the looks of things, Rumer is well on her way to achieving fame for being herself and thus supporting her own image of budding fashionista with a distinct, personal style that blends grace and a certain glam-funk feel that makes her popular with younger audiences.
