14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola DEFY’s sequel has just been introduced in Israel along with a suite of smart accessories that allows users to get the most from their smartphones. Motorola DEFY+ can be purchased from Partner Communications for prices starting from NIS 55 (15 USD of 11 EUR).
The rugged smartphone offers the same kind of protection as the original DEFY and is tagged by the manufacturer as water resistant, scratch resistant and dust proof. It is also worth mentioning that the Motorola DEFY+ is IP67 certified.
Hardware-wise, Motorola DEFY+ comes with a superior 1GHz single core TI OMAP 3620 processor, which is 25% faster than the original DEFY’s 800MHz CPU.
This is mostly possible due to the fact that DEFY+ is powered by Google’s Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread, whereas the DEFY runs Froyo. In addition, both smartphones run Motorola’s MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets.
The smartphone features a decent 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution and 16 million colors support, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
On the inside, the device packs 2GB onboard memory, 512 MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).
The DEFY+ comes pre-loaded with a range of social networking apps, as well as Google’s full suite of services, such as Gtalk, Maps, Search, YouTube and more.
There’s also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording capabilities.
