We're seeing somewhat of a flood of laptops and notebooks making their way onto the market lately, and the latest to join the fray is none other than HP, who's added two new and interesting models to its EliteBook lineup.

The two new notebooks in question are the HP EliteBook 8460p and HP EliteBook 8560p, delivering 14 and 15-inch diagonal sizes, respectively, as well as plenty of advanced components housed within their HP DuraCase, a special enclosure that actually manages to comply to the MIL-STD 810G military-standard testing specifications.

Naturally, the new notebooks by HP are powered by some of the latest and most powerful mobile CPUs around, including here Sandy Bridge Intel Core i7 quad-core CPUs, as well as Core i7, i5 and i3 dual-core processors.

In order to provide users with very good quality graphics, the (HD) LED-backlit displays the two new EliteBook systems from HP have been equipped with are paired with a choice of either UMA or AMD Radeon HD 6470M discrete graphics, letting users choose the version that best suits their usage requirements.

In terms of storage, users are also offered quite a few interesting choices, including here SATA II HDDs up to 750GB, SED SATA II HDD units up to 320GB, as well as SSDs up to 160GB.

The new EliteBook notebooks from HP also sport USB 3.0 connectivity ports, plus a wide array of options in terms of the battery packs they employ, 3-, 6- and 9-cell options being available, as well as the HP Ultra-Capacity Notebook battery, that helps the 8460p attain a very impressive 32 hours of functioning life.

According to HP, their new EliteBook 8460p and 8560p are slated to arrive in stores across the US on March 15, with the estimated starting price points being set at $999 and $1,099, respectively.
