If Royal Revolt was one of the your favorite titles on Windows 8.1, prepare yourself for some really awesome action with the second version of the game, which is now available for download for all those who have already made the move to this new OS version released by Microsoft in October 2013.

Just like in the first version of the game, Royal Revolt 2 calls for players to defend a castle and control a hero that fights against the enemies, while also building the defense and upgrading troops and buildings.

“You have come a long way to find that you are not the only lord with a claim to the throne. Find a castle from where you will build your forces, and battle to prove to the World who the true king really is,” the game description published in the store reads.

“Royal Revolt is back with more fun, even more battles and a lot more action. Defend your castle and build a deadly maze for your enemies. Explore and conquer the kingdoms of your friends and foes in this brilliant sequel. Overthrow the royals on your way to the top, but be aware of your own enemies, your Highness - there’s a royal revolt going on!!!”

The game is obviously completely optimized for the touch and can be played on both desktop computers and tablets, but for the best experience, you should really give it a try on a Surface tablet. It comes with awesome graphics and audio and also offers multiplayer support in order to challenge other players across the world.

One of the best things about the newly-launched Royal Revolt 2 is that it's a universal app, so it works on both Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.

Microsoft announced this new concept at the BUILD 2014 developer conference in San Francisco last month and said that the number of universal apps is very likely to grow bigger in the coming months as more developers are trying to launch tools that work on other platforms.

Basically, users are now allowed to buy and download an app just once on one device and launch it on any other synchronized unit running Windows 8.1.

Of course, this game comes at absolutely no cost, so you can download Royal Revolt 2 for Windows 8.1 right now without paying a single cent for it, no matter if you have a desktop PC or a tablet.
