RoverPC X7 is the name of a new Pocket PC manufactured in Russia by RoverPC, a company that we've already heard of on several occasions.

X7 is the latest device created by RoverPC and it's presented as its most powerful communicator handset. The Pocket PC runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and does indeed bring a set of features that make it quite attractive. Maybe the coolest thing about the X7 is its 3D User Interface, which resembles the one embedded by HTC in its new Touch Diamond. There's a video presentation of this Russia-made UI, which I've posted at the end of the article.

Of course, in terms of design, the X7 can't be compared to HTC Touch Diamond, but it still looks quite nice for a Pocket PC.

The new Rover comes with a 3.2 inch TFT touchscreen display with 65K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Wi-Fi, built-in GPS, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with both GPRS and EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, FM radio, Music and Video players, a 2.5mm headset jack, USB 2.0, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, support for microSD and microSDHC memory cards, 128MB of ROM, 256MB of RAM and a 624 MHz Marvell PXA310 processor. Since it's Windows Mobile based, the Russian handset also features Office Mobile, Pocket Internet Explorer and all the other Microsoft-specific mobile applications.

The X7 measures 121 x 65.5 x 17 millimeters, weighs 132 grams and includes a 1500 mAh battery of unknown (yet) performances.

RoverPC X7 will be available starting August for a retail price of 13,999 Russian rubles, meaning about 390 Euros or 610 USD. Most probably, the new Pocket PC will only be sold in Russia and the CIS countries, which would explain the lack of 3G connectivity.

Here's the video with the 3D interface of RoverPC X7:
