Now that the fatso fight has somewhat died down (we're talking, of course, about the Donald Trump vs. Rosie O'Donnell saga), the television talk show host is gearing up to go to war again. This time, she chose not to go for a billionaire as sharp-tongued as herself but against one of the most popular shows on TV: 'American Idol'.
The talent competition has been getting lots of (negative) press for a week or so already, mainly because one of the judges, Paula Abdul, did a bunch of live interviews in which she seemed intoxicated. Later on, Paula explained that her odd behavior was due to technical difficulties, a theory backed up by the network itself.
Since Rosie is always the one to comment on the things we get to see on TV (sometimes in the right and sometimes not) and on the stuff considered acceptable by our culture that literally feeds off scandals as entertainment stories, it was only natural that her next attack would be on one of the toughest contests (and juries) in showbiz.
Speaking to the other co-hosts on 'The View' and referring to a bug-eyed wannabe 'Idol' who obviously did not have the necessary talent to be on the show, O'Donnell branded the three judges stuck up 'millionaires' who lower themselves (for sheer fun) to insulting people for the way they look instead of judging their vocal skills. The comment was brought upon by one of Simon Cowell's remarks, addressed to said bug-eyed contestant.

'You look a little odd. The dancing is terrible. The singing was horrendous and you look like one of those creatures that live in the jungle with those massive eyes. What do they call them? Bush babies.', Cowell said in the first episode of the sixth season of 'American Idol'. Rosie retaliated by saying that such comments are utterly unacceptable and that measures should be taken to prevent them from ever airing.
'Isn't that what America thinks is entertainment? To make fun of someone's physical appearance and then when they leave the room laugh hysterically at them? Three millionaires, one probably intoxicated….', Rosie said. The last part was meant for Paula Abdul who, by the way, was still acting strange - which made people speculate she had something put into her Coca Cola cup, other than the popular non-alcoholic beverage.
Either way, as mean as she might come off, Rosie explained that her attitude was also caused by her having a rough period, of 'battling billionaires and menopause', and not only by the 'American Idol' auditions.
