As he’s trying to convince the world – and the media, in particular – that the Rihanna incident should never be brought up again, Chris Brown earned a brand new, unexpected ally. Rosie O’Donnell came to his defense in her most recent radio show.
According to the talk show star, people should stop pretending like Charlie Sheen is good and Chris Brown is bad, because it’s precisely the other way around, since Chris paid his dues and should now be left alone.
“I don’t know why this kid seems to be held to a different standard than anybody else,” Rosie said on her Sirius XM radio show.
Asked by her producer whether people might hate Chris because he’s black (whereas they don’t hate Sheen because he’s white), Rosie goes straight to the point.
“I totally think there is [a racial aspect], and I also think it’s why he felt he was safer with Robin Roberts [who is also African-American],” she responded.
Roberts, on the other hand, chose to “exploit” Brown
on Good Morning America, asking him questions about Rihanna when he’d made it clear he didn’t want to answer them and thus pushing him over the edge – and he took it out after GMA by throwing a chair through a window in his dressing room.
Before anything, Roberts should probably ask herself how much blame she carries for this incident, one that tarnished Chris’ reputation again.
“I felt mildly angry at Robin Roberts. I felt like writing her and going: ‘Can you take a look at this again and see if maybe you find – in any way – your responsibility in this?’” Rosie said.
Attacked on
Twitter for the comments she made on radio and for defending Chris Brown, Rosie is fighting back saying that the man did the crime and paid for it. Why should he be punished anymore?
“He was held accountable – he did his service – the judge commended him – he grew up in a violent home – he is only 21,” Rosie tweets.
