Gorgeous Victoria's Secret model says she wasn't much to look at as a teen

She may be one of the hottest women working in showbiz right now but, as a teen, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wasn't much to look at, she says in a new interview with Harper's Bazaar.

The model, now one of the most famous Angels for Victoria's Secret and a budding actress as well, after getting her start on “Transformers,” says she was quite ugly at 15.

This is probably why she never even imagined she'd make a career as a model – and a very highly rated one as well.

“I was a bit of an Ugly Betty when I was 15,” she says.

She was a country girl who traveled to London and accidentally got a job at a modeling agency. Her responsibilities first included “getting coffee, lighting people’s cigarettes.”

She was far from the stunner she is now. In fact, Rosie insists, you would hardly recognize her as the teen she was back then.

“[I wore] trainers, with braids, a ton of makeup, plucked eyebrows. I had braces,” she says.

Luckily, she transitioned immediately: at 18, she'd already gotten her wings at Victoria's Secret, a job that, she believes, every woman dreams of landing even though she personally never did.

“It’s still such a huge thing for a model. People kind of laugh about it and think it’s irrelevant, but I don’t know a girl in the world who would put those wings on and not feel, just for a split second, very special,” she says.

However, Rosie might not be planning to be a model for that much longer, if one is to take into consideration the interviews she gave while promoting “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon,” where she replaced Megan Fox.

A while back, Rosie said she's love to use the exposure she got with Michael Bay's 3D extravaganza to launch a career as an actress. She doesn't rule out doing more serious roles either, where her looks aren't as important, as we also reported at the time.
