Does Rosewill offer a design to make a difference?

Rosewill's flagship keyboard, the Mabelode RGB has been unveiled. Apparently, it is a full-sized mechanical keyboard that will offer a 104-key set, multi-color RGB illumination, giving the user the possibility of setting the color for individual keys using the provided keyboard driver.

According to Techpowerup, the new keyboard has 6 lighting modes can be set up together with 5 lighting levels. However, what sets Mabelode apart from other keyboard manufacturers is the ability to save your personal settings and profiles in the keyboard's local memory, rather than your system. This way any system corruption or formatting will not affect your keyboard's profiles. Five such profiles of this type can be saved on your keyboard.

Mabelode also comes with multimedia hot-keys and a detachable wrist-rest wrapped in a rubberized surface.

Computex 2015, however, offered many competitive mechanical keyboards, the main players being Ducky, Corsair and Roccat. While all the keyboard offers that came from these manufacturers offered RGB lighting with customizable mixes of shades and up to five keyboard profiles ready to be saved on your system, Rosewill brings the innovative solution of saving your profile inside the keyboard itself.

Making a difference after all?

This solution does indeed seem logical, even though not really groundbreaking, as it provides more of a safety solution rather than endless bling and neon lights.

As we've mentioned before in our previous Ripjaws mechanical keyboard coverage, it's best to keep a certain uniformity of build quality before adding more lights, neons and extreme, aggressive looks. As most, if not all, performance gaming keyboard manufacturers offer full RGB, fully customizable and multi-profiled products, the one who will probably get more sales is the one that prioritizes quality and ergonomics above all else.

There are no details about the keys lifecycle, or if the keyboard comes with Cherry MX Red and Brown key switches, so it's still maybe too early to make a real impression of Rosewill’s new product.

Finally, as the market is full of credible and attractive offers, players will make up their mind based on their own personal preferences.
