Ever since 'Vanity Fair' pulled that wonderful stunt, putting two gorgeous women naked and side by side for a cover photo, more and more magazines have taken up on it. The latest to join this beautiful and not at all offensive trend is 'Rolling Stone' magazine, who paired the 'Sin City' star Rosario Dawson with Rose McGowan. The result is staring right at you, in case you were wondering.
Now, a few things about what might have made the bosses from 'Stone' contact the two actresses, because you can easily imagine that this photo doesn't serve only them. No, this is a 'you show me yours, I'll show you mine' type of situation so, if you are looking for an answer to that first question, you must ask yourself what do these two beauties stand to win from showing that much skin.
To save you a lot of time, I first have to mention that this 'analysis' starts from the premise that you care about what convinced them to strip down to their birthday suits. Since the photo is really great, my bet is that you don't but let's play a little game, in which you pretend you are interested and I act as if I didn't know that you are not.
'Grindhouse' is the latest Tarantino/Rodriguez gorefest masterpiece and, while the movie is already making huge waves among the fans of the genre, the critics are not even half impressed. Situated somewhere on the border of brilliancy and sheer stupidity, 'Grindhouse' has already opened in the US and, from the lack of excellent reviews, anyone can gather that it's not doing so great - in terms of ticket sales, of course.
Can you tell me of a better way to sell something than trough sex? Or scandal? I give my two last cents that you can't because every other example in today's world of showbiz points exactly to that. 'Grindhouse' is no exception to that, especially now, when rumors that Rose McGowan broke up director Robert Rodriguez's happy family, by charming him and making him leave his wife. Even more, word on the street is that their love affair was one step away from putting a definite end on production altogether.
Sure, bad publicity is better than no publicity at all but, on second thought, nakedness is ten times better than bad publicity. See where I'm going with this? Since nudity is the number one way to make sure you get as much media exposure as you might want, double nudity is guaranteed success. Plus, we're talking here about two hot babes so there's no way one could go wrong with this!
Looking at this cover, I can't stop thinking: why didn't they think of this before the movie was shot? The idea of Rose and Rosario naked, save from some bullets to cover all those private places, running around, killing zombies and bad guys would have attracted millions (if not billions) of viewers into theaters. They could have called them 'Double Rs'! Well, at least we got a taste of how that might have been with the cover of 'Rolling Stone'. In life, you gotta take what they give you and be happy with it...
