Actress Rooney Mara, star of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and possibly one of the contenders for the Best Actress category at the Oscars 2012, is totally dissing the parts she got before starring in the blockbuster “The Social Network.”

Sometime towards the end of 2011, in an interview discussing her role as the extremely intelligent yet socially underdeveloped Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” Mara mentioned her part in “Law & Order: SVU,” calling the show stupid and awful.

Fans of the long-standing series reacted immediately, calling her a typically spoiled brat for bad-mouthing one of the jobs she did before she attained international fame.

They're not going to be any happier now: in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mara dissed her part in the remake “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” Digital Spy informs.

Granted, the film was thrashed by critics too, but Rooney is going even further than this, by saying she didn't want to be in it in the first place.

“You kind of learn to self-sabotage with things you don't want to get. Sometimes you don't want to get something but you do a really good job and you get in anyway,” said the star about her role in the remake of the once-popular slasher.

“That's kind of [what happened] with A Nightmare on Elm Street – I didn't even really want it. And then I went in [to audition] and I was like, [whispering] '[Expletive]. I definitely got that',” she added.

As it happens, this wasn't the first time Mara badmouthed the remake. In an older interview with Vogue, she called it the one role that could have made her give up acting altogether.

“I hated it. It left me thinking, If this is what is available to me, then I don't necessarily want to be an actress. And then I got the script for The Social Network,” she said at the time.

After bashing “Law & Order: SVU,” Mara tried to backtrack by saying her words had been taken out of context. As of now, she hasn't said anything to take back the comment on “Nightmare on Elm Street.”
