According to the English tabloids, Cristiano Ronaldo will find it impossible to leave Manchester United. After all the things that have been said about his winking at the Portuguese reserve-bench - after Rooney got the red card from referee Elizondo - in the World Cup quarterfinal, Ronaldo was practically destroyed by the English media. More, some of Manchester's fans have broken into his residence. And these were just a couple of reasons why the midfielder wanted to hear nothing about his team in the future.
Still, Ronaldo's contract
with Manchester expires in 2010, so the Portuguese must go to England. Even if he cried out for help and stated that he fears for his life, Sir Alex Ferguson made it very clear that he's not even thinking of letting him leave the club. The Scottish technician assured his protégé that nothing bad will happen to him and asked the fans - and Rooney - to go easy on him.
Well, it seems that Ferguson has yet another ally in bringing Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. And it's the Portuguese's mom the one that urges her son to go back to Manchester. As "The Sun" tabloid reports, Maria - Ronaldo's mother - revealed that he advised her son not to leave United.
"He will be at Manchester with all the players on the first day of training. He has a contract and he is going to honor it. I am happy he is going back. The whole family is happy. He is OK with Man Utd. The coach has said that Manchester needs Cristiano. Any player would like to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona but, at the moment, he is at Manchester and he is going to stay at Manchester", stated Ronaldo's mom.
With Real Madrid easing up on his transfer, it seems very likely that Ronaldo will return to England as soon as possible. More, after Rooney stating that what happened in the World cup quarterfinal was just an unfortunate accident, the Portuguese's chances of getting into Man U fans' hearts again went up pretty much.
