In April this year, actress Olivia Newton-John announced she’d be pulling out of a scheduled Las Vegas residency because her sister had been diagnosed with brain cancer and she wanted to be by her side at such a difficult time.
Rona, who was 70 years old and an actress herself, has died.
Olivia has confirmed the news on her Facebook page, ABC News reports, mentioning that Rona died on May 24.
“She was surrounded by the love of her four children-Fiona, Brett, Tottie and Emerson and her wonderful friends. I will miss her forever – my beautiful, smart, talented, funny, brave sister Rona,” Olivia writes.
“In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Olivia Newton John Cancer & Wellness Centre, where a brain tumor wellness program will be started in Rona’s name,” ABC News says.
