Romo Transforms Your Smartphone Into a Robot

Smartphones are much more powerful than we give them credit, so in order to prove this fact two engineers have joined their efforts to develop Romo, a smartphone-powered robot.

Romo is basically a platform that was designed to support your iPhone, iPod Touch, or any other Android smartphone, allowing your phone to roam free all through the house.

After connecting the smartphone to Romo, users will have to install the software that will make the two work together.

This is available from the Android Market and in the iTunes App Store and right now there are three apps included: RomoRemote (lets you direct Romo using the iPhone), Romo Kart (race against your friends in a “mixed-reality version” or Mario Kart), and a Drag and Drop Programmable Module.

More applications should be released in the near future as Romo is infinitely programmable, so this should only be limited by the developer's creativity. (via Geek)
